""Yeah, I took a loss on it," said Frederic with a laugh. "Giving back to the community.""
""I had a feeling it could happen with the way the year was going," said Frederic after the Oilers' morning skate at the Garden. "I kind of figured. I was probably done for the year, or the regular season. It didn't sound like we were going to get a deal going, so I just put the two together.""
""He deserved it and he played well," said Frederic of Marchand. "If you can get anything positive out of that, it was to see him win. I saw all the work he put in throughout the years, so it's cool for him.""
Trent Frederic spent an off day walking around South Boston and met former teammates for dinner before finalizing the sale of his Southie condo. Frederic acknowledged taking a loss on the sale and joked about "giving back to the community." Frederic was a 2016 first-round pick (29th overall) of the Bruins and spent eight seasons with the organization. He was the first player moved in the Bruins' roster rebuild and was traded while nursing an ankle sprain and on an expiring contract. The trade sent him to Edmonton, where he helped the Oilers reach the Stanley Cup Final, losing to Brad Marchand's Panthers. The Bruins received picks and prospect Max Wanner in the three-way deal that included Frederic and Max Jones.
