The rescue team of more than 20 conservation officials and volunteers reached the hiker by 6:00 p.m. Rescuers used a rescue litter to carry the hiker 2.7 miles down the trail, starting the litter carry at 6:35 p.m. The team arrived at the trailhead around 10:15 p.m., transferred the hiker to an ambulance, and the Waterville Valley Department of Safety transported her to Speare Memorial Hospital for treatment.
