An Iranian drone strike in Kuwait resulted in the deaths of six U.S. soldiers stationed there. Army National Guard Major Mark Garcia, a Boston firefighter assigned to Engine 50 in Charlestown, was injured in the same explosion. Garcia is currently recovering in Germany with an expected return home in a couple of months. Governor Maura Healey announced Garcia's status during a Tuesday address to the Chamber of Commerce. The Boston Firefighters IAFF Local 718 union expressed pride in Garcia's service to both the city and the Armed Forces, expressing gratitude for his safety and anticipating his homecoming.
