Monica Cannon-Grant, 44, of Taunton, pleaded guilty in September 2025 to 18 charges including wire fraud, wire fraud conspiracy, mail fraud, and tax offenses. She received four years of probation, six months of home detention, 100 hours of community service, $106,003 in restitution, and forfeiture to be determined. Cannon-Grant established Violence in Boston (VIB) in 2017 and, with her husband, raised more than $1 million before VIB was shut down in July 2022 amid fraud allegations. From 2017 through at least 2020, donations were used for personal expenses and she conspired to defraud the Boston Resiliency Fund.
