
"The train doors opened on the platform side while the train was just outside the station. While the doors were open, the train never moved. ... Two passengers exited the train into the track area - they did not fall out, but exited on their own," an agency spokesperson said, referring to a social media report that a person "fell out" of the stopped train."
"Orange Line supervisors and members of the Transit Police and Boston Fire Department helped the two passengers out of the track area, the spokesperson said. One of the passengers was "conscious and alert" but was brought to a local hospital with minor injuries. The T's safety team is investigating, but they have preliminarily ruled out a mechanical failure or an "issue with the train itself," according to the spokesperson."
A stopped Orange Line train approaching Roxbury Crossing opened its doors while just outside the station and did not move, prompting two passengers to exit into the track area. Orange Line supervisors, Transit Police, and Boston Fire Department personnel assisted both passengers out of the track area. One passenger, conscious and alert, was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The T's safety team is investigating and has preliminarily ruled out mechanical failure or an issue with the train. Orange Line service was temporarily halted with alternate service provided; normal service resumed around 4:45 p.m.
