'Where you start does not decide where you end up'
"I want young people from backgrounds like mine to understand that where you start does not decide where you finish. I grew up in an environment where it would have been very easy to go down the wrong path, but sport gave me discipline, focus and a reason to stay on the right track."
"I always knew there was more to life. If you stay focused, surround yourself with the right people and, more importantly, stay patient, anything is possible."
Demetrios Bradshaw, a former coach for Team Ireland and founder of Aeras Aviation, overcame significant adversity, including homelessness and the loss of his father. He emphasizes that one's starting point does not determine their future. Bradshaw found discipline and focus through gymnastics, which helped him avoid negative paths. His aviation firm has grown to employ nearly 50 people, and he has advised Botswana's president on modernizing its airline. He believes that with focus, the right support, and patience, success is achievable.
