We're Getting Two New ACOTAR Books Very Soon
"There will be two books within a very short span. It's just the story that was finally ready to come out of me was big, really, really, really big. One of these books will be so big it will need to be bound as a set of two, so the story will occupy three physical volumes. But it's like one thing altogether, that no amount of glue in any publisher's factory could ever hold this."
"I realized it was gonna be four parts. A book told in four parts. So then I wrote part two, and part three. And those were really fucking long. Part four has yet to be written."
"I started writing this in Montana, in an energy vortex. It came out of me in a way that surprised me. By the end of part one it was, like, 400 pages long."
Sarah J. Maas revealed plans for two upcoming A Court of Thorns and Roses books during an interview on Call Her Daddy. Book 6 releases October 27, 2024, followed by Book 7 on January 12, 2027. The story is exceptionally large, requiring three physical volumes to contain it, though functioning as one complete narrative. The books are structured as a four-part story, with parts one through three completed and part four still to be written. Maas explained the extended gap between releases resulted from personal matters requiring her attention. She began writing in Montana, where the creative process flowed unexpectedly, with part one alone reaching 400 pages.
