Pro-Palestine supporters hit Barnard College again, storming the school's library
Briefly

On March 5, a group of about 50 pro-Palestine protestors stormed Barnard College's Milstein Library, chanting 'Free Palestine!' and playing instruments, creating a disruption during school hours. The protest followed previous violent incidents, including an assault during a protest on February 26, and the recent expulsion of a student involved in last year's demonstrations. While the administration emphasized its commitment to a safe environment for all students, the increasing tensions around these protests raise questions about academic freedom and safety on campus.
Dozens of young pro-Palestine protestors took over Barnard College again Wednesday afternoon, this time storming the school's library center as they yelled chants and played musical instruments.
Although they were mostly covered, the demonstrators appeared to be college-age young adults. Online videos show protestors banging individual drums as the group continued chanting while other students exited the building.
Barnard is committed to fostering a safe environment where all students can learn and all members of our community are respected... disruptions to that mission are an affront to the purpose of higher education.
The incident comes on the heels of a violent Feb. 26 protest in which pro-Palestinian students forced their way into the school's Milbank Hall and allegedly assaulted a staff member.
