The incident occurred during protests against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and involved a speeding SUV that struck Carrasco before fleeing the scene. Friends have described her as loving and outgoing, and she currently remains in critical but stable condition following serious injuries. Police clarified that they do not believe the driver was involved in the protests.
