Cops probing anti-Israel manifesto allegedly written by terror suspect Elias Rodriguez: sources
Briefly

Elias Rodriguez, 31, was arrested for the shooting of two Israeli Embassy staffers in Washington, D.C., where he allegedly chanted pro-Palestinian slogans just before the attack. Investigators are looking into a 900-word manifesto he purportedly authored, which calls the attack an act of political protest related to the Gaza conflict. The document raises concerns about the nature of political violence and reflects Rodriguez's self-radicalization. Authorities are examining whether the document is authentic and how it influenced his actions, while also analyzing his electronic devices for further insights.
An armed action is not necessarily a military action. It usually is not. Usually it is theater and spectacle, a quality it shares with many unarmed actions.
But inhumanity has long since shown itself to be shockingly common, mundane, prosaically human. A perpetrator may then be a loving parent... and yet be a monster all the same.
Humanity doesn't exempt one from accountability. The action would have been morally justified taken 11 years ago during Protective Edge, around the time I personally became aware of the genocide.
Authorities are probing whether the suspect, Elias Rodriguez, was self-radicalized and investigating the authenticity of a manifesto linked to him.
