Antisemitic and Islamophobic violence is rising in the United States. Both must stop | Moustafa Bayoumi
Briefly

Two violent incidents targeting Jewish individuals in the U.S. have heightened concerns about escalating antisemitism. A gunman recently killed two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington, and another man attacked a rally in Colorado, injuring eight people. This reflects a broader climate of hostility, prompting the need to confront antisemitism while also acknowledging the violence faced by Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslims. The tragic case of Wadea al-Fayoume, a Palestinian American boy murdered by his landlord, showcases the urgent need for a united opposition to all forms of hate and discrimination.
These horrific acts will no doubt increase the anxiety many Jewish people have about increasing and increasingly violent antisemitism in the United States.
One can oppose Israel's 600-plus day war while vigorously opposing all forms of antisemitism. In fact, one must oppose both.
We must also make sure to acknowledge the rising threats against Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims.
The landlord also attacked the boy's mother, Hanan Shaheen, stabbing her over a dozen times while telling her you, as a Muslim, must die.
