"Positioned at the front of the venue, Paladin Bikes was a booth that was rarely without a crowd gathered around to take in the intricate and striking machining that made the AM-1 possible. The raw-looking, CNC'd, 7075 alloy frame was proudly displayed, and the team at Paladin Bikes was excitedly chatting with all the onlookers about the process and ethos behind the incredible machine they had created."
"Paladin Bikes is a passion project that grew out of Paladin Engineering, with the mission of creating its own unique and capable all-mountain bike that leverages the company's engineering expertise. The team at Paladin has been in the robotics industry, designing complex parts and mechanisms for applications ranging from logistics to bomb disposal. However, with a passion for riding bikes and a dream of creating their own frame, Paladin Bikes was born, and their prototype, the AM-1, was unveiled in January 2025."
The AM-1 features a CNC-machined 7075 aluminum frame produced using a patent-pending multi-axis process that carves all frame sides in one operation. The front triangle is primarily hollow except for an I-beam-style top tube and consists of two pieces bonded together. Rear travel options include 150mm with a 185×55 shock or 140mm with a 185×50 shock, offering 26.5% progression at 150mm. The frame accepts coil or air shocks, supports mixed-wheel or full-29" setups, and offers six chainstay length options across sizes S–XL. A four-person engineering team with robotics experience designed the AM-1.
