We Think SRAM's Latest Tease Confirms a Wireless DH Transmission
"A countdown and a smattering of images posted to the SRAM website hint at something new coming next month. Given the selection of images, video clips, and sparse text, we believe SRAM could be dropping the new wireless AXS DH transmission sometime soon. Prototype derailleurs have been spotted on factory team bikes throughout the 2025 UCI DH World Cup season. The next generation of SRAM DH drivetrains is likely to be announced when this countdown hits zero..."
"The countdown is ticking down to 33 days as of today, Jan 21st, 2026, and although not many details are supplied on the website, images of a mud-caked derailleur and prototype UDH cages suggest we might be seeing a wireless downhill drivetrain coming to market. But it could also be more than just electronic drivetrains we see arrive; we could also be blessed with mechanical T-Type derailleurs coming to downhill, as we saw with Eagle 70 and Eagle 90."
SRAM posted a countdown and a set of images and video clips on its website indicating a major product launch in 33 days. The imagery includes a mud-caked derailleur and prototype UDH cages, pointing to a possible wireless AXS DH drivetrain for downhill bikes. Prototype derailleurs have been observed on factory team bikes during the 2025 UCI DH World Cup season. The new drivetrain could be electronic wireless or mechanical T-Type, following the Eagle 70 and Eagle 90 examples. Questions remain about cassette gearing and whether the new standard will keep the existing 10-24 range or introduce more gears.
