'We have to be patient' - As mountains loom Michael Storer bides his time in Giro d'Italia GC bid
Briefly

Australian cyclist Michael Storer, a contender for the Giro d'Italia, forecasts only minor gaps in the race's opening mountain stage, suggesting a more competitive field emerges deeper into the event. After a solid start, ranking ninth overall, Storer expressed satisfaction with his performance and time trial results. He noted the Tagliacozzo ascent's challenge level, emphasizing that the final climb's difficulty lies primarily in its last two kilometers, suggesting the race's dynamics will remain closely contested for the time being.
The opening to the Giro has been good for me. I stayed out of trouble, I only lost a little bit of time in the time trial so it's been a great start.
I know it's going to be a hard day on Friday, but the final climb is not super hard. Only the last two kilometres are difficult, so I don't think we'll see big gaps at the end.
