Wanted: Your Ideas for New Long-Distance Bike Trails
Briefly

The IMBA's Biking on Long-Distance Trails Coalition is soliciting public input for off-pavement bike routes longer than 80 miles via the Long Live Long Trails survey, open until August 1. This initiative follows the BOLT Act's passage, which mandates the creation of at least 10 long-distance bike trails across the U.S. Aimed at enhancing trail connectivity, the campaign will aid economic development in local communities and bolster outdoor access, ensuring these trails are well-supported and preserved for future generations.
Long-distance, backcountry trail connectivity is a cornerstone of the bikepacking experience, connecting people to landscapes, communities, and transformative outdoor experiences.
The BOLT Act directs the Department of the Interior to create no fewer than 10 long-distance bicycle routes throughout the United States.
