Visma-Lease a Bike had up to 18 bikes stolen from its mechanic's truck overnight after thieves forcibly broke into the vehicle. Several bikes were later found in bushes, but most remain missing and a police investigation is underway. Race leader Jonas Vingegaard's bike was not stolen. Team mechanics rebuilt sufficient equipment during the morning to ensure the squad could start stage 3, receiving assistance from nearby Lidl-Trek and Movistar staff. The team experienced an eventful 24 hours, including Vingegaard's stage 2 victory after a crash and Axel Zingle's abandonment with a shoulder injury.
This morning we woke up and we saw that our truck was broken open and some bikes were stolen,
It was really with severe violence that they opened the truck, because it's almost impossible to open. So for us it was a big shock this morning when we woke up. It's very sad news,
I don't know why they left these bikes, but we had several bikes being found again. So, that's really good for us. But the reason why they left them behind, I don't know,
The mechanics did an incredibly good job by building the bikes that we need. So, they are coming in a minute and then we have enough bikes to race, fortunately,
