This Aftermarket Suspension Upgrade Could Unlock the Amflow PL's Full Potential
"Cascade Components has delivered what could be the best upgrade for the Amflow PL. For $257 USD, Amflow owners can now increase rear travel to 160mm and improve suspension performance, all without tweaking the geometry. With 10mm more rear wheel travel and a more supple rear end, the Amflow PL Link from Cascade Components could make one of the best e-mountain bikes on the market even better."
"This link is intended to be used ONLY in the 27.5 flip chip setting to preserve the stock geometry, but that doesn't mean you need to use a 27.5 wheel, and riders can still use a 29-inch wheel in this setting, as the pinch point is not at the tire. The flip-chip must be set to 27.5 to keep the geo where it should be."
"The Amflow PL is undoubtedly one of the most talked about eMTBs of the last few years, thanks to its Avinox motor and battery system and well-considered geometry. Although this is the first and only model from the young brand, the Amflow PL checks a ton of boxes for a full-power eMTB. The bike is not without its imperfections, and I often wish for a little more downhill capability, as do many other Amflow owners."
Cascade Components' Amflow PL Link costs $257 USD, increases rear travel from 150mm to 160mm, and makes the rear end more supple while preserving stock geometry. The link must be used with the flip chip set to the 27.5 position to maintain intended geometry, though a 29-inch wheel can still be run because the pinch point is not at the tire. Progression increases from 21% to 27%, producing noticeably firmer anti-squat and more support on aggressive downhill lines. The change enables pairing with a 170mm fork for improved downhill capability without altering frame geometry; using the 29 flip-chip would require a reduced shock stroke.
