Lotte Kopecky aimed for a strong performance at Liège-Bastogne-Liège following her recent victory at the Tour of Flanders. Although her team SD Worx-Protime initially set a competitive pace, the steep Côte de Roche-aux-Faucons proved challenging for her. Despite her teammate Anna van der Breggen making significant efforts during the race, Kopecky could not keep up with the final acceleration of the leading riders, ultimately finishing in fifth place. Her reflections on the race highlighted the teamâs good tactics but acknowledged her personal struggle on the climb.
In general, it wasn't bad. Our team was really good at the front and tried to help as much as possible. Having Anna in the break before Roche-aux-Faucons was really good for us. It's just sad she got caught before the top.
I think I had a pretty good start on the final climb. The last kilometre was just a little too much. It is what it is.
