Lachlan Morton returned to The Traka 360 race, aiming for a better outcome after finishing second the previous year. Unfortunately, he faced a setback when he broke his wheel 150 km into the race, forcing him to withdraw. Morton reflected on his busy schedule, mentioning that he had limited training time leading to this event. Despite the disappointment, he is focusing on preparing for the upcoming Unbound XL, a challenging 350-mile race, and plans to maximize his training in the weeks before the event.
I broke my wheel about 150 km in so that was it, day done. The wheel, it was unridable, so I got a lift from a local guy out there who was headed back to town and then tracked down the crew.
I mean this year's been totally different, doing a lot of different new events, so haven't really had any time to train, with the exception of maybe the last two weeks leading into this when I finally had a bit of like time where I'm not travelling.
After I get home, I should have just under 2 weeks before the event. And then I'll get a bit more specific for that, so try and do a few longer rides and play with the lights and just hone in a bit more.
