Remco Evenepoel's transfer from Soudal-QuickStep to Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe represents a complex process due to Specialized's strict policy regarding data confidentiality. Although Evenepoel will use familiar equipment and retain the optimizations discovered at Specialized's 'Win Tunnel', he will need to restart data gathering with his new team. Specialized maintains that data generated for one team cannot be shared with another team without permission, necessitating a fresh dataset collection process for new team riders.
"Any data generated with or for a pro team remains strictly confidential and is never shared outside that team without their explicit permission," Lionello Bardina, Specialized's R&D Engineer, stated.
"When a rider joins a new team, their new team will generally bring them back over here to the Win Tunnel right after the transfer to re-establish their datasets with their new team," Bardina explained.
