"There's something special about things that are handmade. Maybe it's my inner art major talking, or maybe it's some kind of universal human truth, but things that are handmade have soul. Focus, time, and real effort goes into making these kinds of things, and for Starling Cycles their uniquely designed and meticulously handcrafted bicycles are no different. Starling Cycles just laid out its roadmap for the next decade - and it's a refresh that feels grounded, focused, and very true to the brand."
"In their latest update, Starling answers a difficult question with a simple solution: get some much needed help. They've laid out plans for a hybrid production model that keeps the most important aspects of their hand made production in-house in the UK, while outsourcing some of the less tedious bits of their production process. Starling is moving the fabrication of its core-model front triangles - the Murmur and the mixed-wheel Twist - to Fort Frames in the Czech Republic."
Starling Cycles is evolving production to cut wait times, improve availability, and retain independence. The company will move fabrication of core-model front triangles, the Murmur and mixed-wheel Twist, to Fort Frames in the Czech Republic while keeping frames as Reynolds 853 steel built to Starling's standards. Rear triangles will continue from the long-standing Taiwanese partner. The Bristol workshop will retain custom, design, and quality-control tasks. The hybrid model outsources less tedious production bits while preserving handmade elements. Stock frames and a dealer network will launch in 2025 to broaden availability and reduce bottlenecks.
