SRAM Adds Another Brand to Its Portfolio
Briefly

SRAM has acquired Ochain, aiming to enhance its product range while preserving the brand's identity and goals. Ochain is known for its innovative product that reduces pedal kickback and feedback to the rider. It installs between the cranks and chainring, allowing independent rotation for a unique 'chainless' feel. This improves suspension movement and transmission shifts, promoting quieter, more stable rides. Initially designed for downhill racing, Ochain's benefits extend to various biking disciplines, making it a versatile addition to SRAM's expanding offerings.
We started thinking about how to make descending better through drivetrain development. We found that Ochain delivered unmatched improvements in traction, stability, and ride feel.
Installed between a bike's cranks and chainring, Ochain enables the chainring to rotate freely within a specific range without affecting the cranks.
Ochain allows the suspension to move more freely and the transmission to shift smoothly, resulting in a quieter, more stable ride.
The overall intentions and goals of Ochain will not be affected by the new ownership. Instead, we are likely to see significant growth within the company.
