The Sour Purple Pie is a German-made, multi-butted chromoly steel expedition gravel frame sold as a frame kit in small batches. The design centers on a custom machined Pinion bridge that houses Smart.Shift electronics with an accessible 3D-printed battery door while allowing clearance for proper mountain-bike tires. The frame accepts 700x55mm tires (recommended 45–55mm), offers rack and fender mounts for commuting or world touring, and includes conventional internal downtube cable routing, CNC dropouts with tensioners and belt-drive split, a 44mm headtube for straight or tapered steerers, and multiple bottle mounts.
