Showers Pass Century Rain Jacket Evolves with New Materials and More Weather Resistance
The Showers Pass Century Jacket receives a modern update while retaining a similar look and fit. The new Advanced Artex Gold 2.5-layer ultralight material is designed to be whisper-quiet and soft, removing the stiff crinkle feel common in rain jackets. The fabric provides a 25k waterproof rating and is claimed to be 2.5 times more waterproof than the prior Century CC. Breathability is rated at 25k (gsm/day). The jacket weighs about 250 grams and packs into a zippered rear pocket for storage. It keeps a cycling-specific cut with a short front hem, drop tail, longer arms, adjustable wrist cuffs, 8-inch core vents, and a breathable rear cape for airflow release.
"The biggest change to the Century Jacket is the brand-new Advanced Artex Gold 2.5-layer ultralight material. According to Showers Pass, this material is " entirely whisper-quiet and ridiculously soft to the touch, completely eliminating the stiff, plastic 'crinkle' of traditional rain jackets." At the same time, the new, more comfortable Artex Gold fabric also boasts a 25k waterproof rating, making it 2.5x more waterproof than the outgoing Century CC jacket."
"With a claimed weight of 250 grams, this waterproof Century Jacket proves that increased weather protection doesn't come with a weight penalty. It packs into its own zippered rear pocket for storage, so it's ready to deploy when the weather turns foul. The jacket maintains a lightweight, packable approach while adding higher water resistance and improved fabric feel."
"It still features a cycling-specific cut that includes a short front hem and drop tail for optimal fit and coverage in the riding position. The longer arms accommodate your extended reach while riding, and adjustable wrist cuffs overlap your cycling gloves or open wide for ventilation. Speaking of ventilation, the 8" core vents open wide for airflow, a breathable rear cape lets air escape."
