Milan Fretin triumphed at the Ronde van Limburg, marking his third win of the season, despite experiencing a late puncture. Riding on his teammate's bike, Fretin emerged victorious in a small bunch sprint in front of a supportive local crowd. Simon Dehairs of Alpecin-Deceuninck closely chased him down the finish line but could not catch him. Fretin, who is heading to the Giro d'Italia next, expressed his special motivation for winning on home soil and the importance of overcoming earlier disappointments in races this spring.
We had the bike change, because I had a flat tyre at a bad moment, but luckily Stan was with me. Normally we sprint with two guys, but he's not recovered from Paris-Roubaix, I think and he helped me a lot. I was feeling super strong today, it's my home race so I was super-motivated, and I'm super happy to win.
It's super-important to win, I kept on getting fourth places so I was always very motivated to get the podium here. And the win is even better.
