Pro Riders Help Launch Trails in Bend, OR
Briefly

Bend, Oregon is known for its extensive biking trails, offering over 500 miles of singletrack. To expand options for downhill and gravity-assisted biking, the Central Oregon Trail Alliance has collaborated with RAD Trails to construct new trails off Wanoga Butte, including two downhill trails and a jump line. Construction started in June 2025, with the jump trail expected to open on July 9th, while other trails will follow in Summer 2026. Local freeriders and builders are involved in the project, supported by grants and community resources.
"Projects like this are a great reminder that it takes time to build great trails and long-term partnerships with land managers. It's a behind-the-scenes level of work that is underappreciated. Chances are, if you want new and exciting trails, so does the managing trail organization."
"Construction on these trails began in June of 2025, and the jump trail, which was machine cut by Storch and Wilkins and then hand packed by Wygle, Guthrie, Connolly, and McCaul, is slated to open to the public on Wednesday, July 9th."
