The HiT gearbox from Praxis, showcased at Sea Otter, represents a significant advancement in bike transmission design. Currently in the prototype phase, the gearbox features hinged gear clusters that allow for flexible input and output positioning. This design can accommodate varying bike configurations, such as high-pivot mountain bikes. The gearbox also supports programmable electric shifting, offering both sequential and automatic options. Praxis anticipates a production version with potentially half the parts of the current prototype, streamlining the transmission system for efficiency.
With the HiT gearbox from Praxis, the input and output can be in different locations, enhancing integration possibilities across various bike designs.
The hinged gear clusters in the HiT gearbox allow for innovative shifting that can be sequential, non-sequential, or fully automatic.
