PNW Components Issues Voluntary Recall for the Loam Pedal Gen 2
"Due to the potential of spindle batches being mixed, we are not comfortable having any of them ridden right now and have decided to recall all of them in the field,"
"As we continue progress toward resolving this issue, we can't have riders left in limbo while we produce the solution."
"We take this very seriously, and to show our commitment, we are offering owners the option to receive a brand-new pair of our Range Composite Pedals free of charge as an interim solution until we have a revised axle system to send out. These are yours to keep after the replacement axles are sent out."
PNW Components issued a voluntary recall of Loam Pedals Gen 2 after receiving reports of four cracked axles. The four failures represent about 0.16% of pedals sold globally and are linked to a small batch with a heat treatment defect. Because spindle batches could have been mixed, all Gen 2 pedals in the field are being recalled as a precaution. The recall does not affect Loam Pedal Gen 1 or Range Composite pedals. Owners are asked to stop riding immediately and file a claim to receive a free pair of Range Composite pedals as an interim solution until revised axles are available.
