After moving to team Q36.5 from Ineos Grenadiers, Tom Pidcock noted a resurgence in his enjoyment of cycling, which he had lost previously despite individual successes. He confirmed that he was engaging with cycling again, although the cost deterred him from watching races. Pidcock attributed his renewed consistency and strong performance, especially heading into the Giro d'Italia, to embracing the team's focus on earning points, urging him to adopt a more serious competitive mindset, despite earlier hesitations about minor setbacks.
It wasn't only the Tour de France... I think now I've started enjoying cycling. I started watching it again - although now it's too expensive to watch.
It's also the responsibility of this team, you know, like, points are important for us... now I'm fully told to sprint even when it goes wrong.
