New Lightweight MTB Derailleur and Shifter Just Dropped
"In the last 12 months, mechanical drivetrians have been seeing a massive burst of popularity, and for good reason - they're the best they have ever been - thanks to brands like Vivo and Madrone. Mechanical shifting is reliable, easy to fix, and provides crisp, instant shifting, and some of the more bespoke options on the market even add a touch of class to a bike build, thanks to their refined, yet utilitarian aesthetics."
"The XC Air Derailleur is a bit of an homage to the drillium craze, and this svelte amalgam of titanium and CNC'ed aluminum tips the scales at just under 300 grams while maintaining stiffness and durability throughout the system - but that level of detail and reliability doesn't come cheap. At $450 USD, you're paying for what you get, and what you get is pretty damn impressive."
Vivo introduced two lightweight mechanical drivetrain components: the XC Air Derailleur and the XC Stealth Shifter. The XC Air Derailleur uses titanium and CNC'ed aluminum to weigh just under 300 grams while preserving stiffness and durability, priced at $450 USD. The XC Stealth Shifter follows the F3's customizable design in a streamlined, lighter package aimed at tidy, elegant cockpits, priced at $290 USD. Both components target growing interest in mechanical drivetrains for their reliability, serviceability, and crisp shifting. Both products are available for pre-order with expected delivery in late May 2026.
