Paul Lapeira, leader of the Tour de Pologne, faced stage 4 with multiple injuries from a crash but successfully completed the race. He had injuries on his right leg, arm, and back, along with breathing issues due to cracked ribs. Initially unsure if he could compete, he managed to finish the stage incident-free, placing 17th. He expressed satisfaction with the outcome, underscoring his determination to defend his yellow jersey after winning the uphill finish in stage 2.
I wasn't even certain about starting this morning, but I really wanted to give it a go today and to try.
Fortunately for Lapeira, stage 4 was nowhere near as tough as stage 3's non-stop hilly rollercoaster.
