
Jonas Vingegaard won stage 14 of the Giro d'Italia from Aosta to Pila, taking the pink leader’s jersey for the first time. He attacked with less than 5 km remaining on the 133 km Alpine ride and proved too strong for rivals on the final climb with 20 hairpins. Visma-Lease a Bike teammates controlled the race and set him up for the decisive move. Felix Gall finished second, 49 seconds behind, while Jai Hindley took third. Afonso Eulalio, who had held the pink jersey since stage five, lost time and dropped to second overall, 2 minutes 26 seconds behind. The peloton was managed while a large breakaway formed early on the climb to Saint-Barthelemy.
