Giant Bicycles has showcased its prototype Anthem XC race bike at Eurobike, actively raced by Alan Hatherly who secured a 13th place at Val Di Sole despite illness. The design features a revolutionary suspension that incorporates a top tube-mounted rocker link driving a horizontally oriented shock. Although the bike is made with Advanced SL carbon fiber and appears nearly finished, Giant is still fine-tuning the carbon layup. The Anthem likely retains a 120 mm rear wheel travel, anticipating better integration with modern race standards.
The new Anthem features a reimagined frame design that integrates a top tube-mounted rocker link, which drives a horizontally oriented shock, enhancing performance.
Despite being raced at Eurobike, the Anthem XC prototype is still under development, as Giant continues to refine its carbon layup before production.
