Cupertino Safe Routes to School hosts bike skills workshop

A middle school bike skills workshop is scheduled for August 10, 8:30 a.m., at the Cupertino Senior Center. Organized by Cupertino Safe Routes to School and Wheel Kids, the workshop features a classroom safety presentation, riding skills drills, and a group ride. Guardian attendance is mandatory, and each must bring a bike and helmet. Additionally, the City of Cupertino is accepting nominations for the CREST Awards until September 5 to honor community service. Furthermore, the League of Women Voters is developing a civic leadership training program in partnership with De Anza College.
The workshop includes a classroom safety presentation, riding skills drills on a blacktop, and a group ride to practice lessons learned. One parent per student is required to attend.
The City of Cupertino is accepting nominations for its annual CREST Awards, recognizing those who serve the community in various categories such as Lifetime Achievement and Volunteer of the Year.
Nominations for the CREST Awards are due by Friday, Sept. 5, with winners celebrated at the Community Service Awards on Wednesday, Oct. 29.
The League of Women Voters of Cupertino-Sunnyvale is developing a civic leadership training program in collaboration with De Anza College and local organizations.
