"BOYD Cycling just pulled the covers off its newest all-around carbon road wheelset, and it's one of the lightest it's produced. Meet the all-new Podium 36 Road Disc SL. On paper, the new wheelset hits a sweet spot for many riders, not just the weight-weenie crowd. At 1130g for the pair, BOYD is pitching the Podium 36 SL as a true "N+1 killer". We're seeing many other companies offering similar options: a wheel that can handle most rides"
"The Podium 36 SL runs a 29mm external / 24mm internal rim profile, giving tires a more rounded shape, better sidewall support, and lower rolling resistance with modern tubeless setups. The 36mm depth should feel stable in heavy winds, spin up quickly when needed, and cover rough ground without the harsh ride of a deep rim. BOYD says the rim is optimized for 28-38mm tires, making it just as at home on aero road rubber as on endurance-oriented or all-road tires."
The Podium 36 Road Disc SL is a 1130g pair of all-around carbon road wheels with a 36mm rim depth and a 24mm internal width. The rims feature a 29mm external profile for rounded tire shape, better sidewall support, and lower rolling resistance with tubeless setups. Rims are hooked with a 0.7mm micro-hook for broad tire compatibility and secure fit. Claimed weights are 515g front and 615g rear. Construction uses high-modulus carbon with reinforced spoke beds, a 72/28 fiber-to-resin ratio, and over 210 PSI molding pressure to minimize voids and increase durability.
