Atherton Bikes Finally Reveals Its Long-Awaited eMTB With Avinox Motor
"The highly anticipated Atherton Bikes S.170E is finally coming, and the brand has just announced a limited number of presale builds that are up for grabs - but you need to act fast to get your hands on the latest Avinox-powered eMTB. The presale is now live at Athertonbikes.com, but the final reveal and full product details will be published when the bike launches in April 2026. Pre-orders are open now for the first 50 bikes, with delivery scheduled for April and May."
"The S.170E combines compact, high-power assistance with balanced handling and proven durability. Atherton is not currently disclosing the battery size fitted in the bike on the website, but they do state, "Rather than chasing maximum battery size, the focus is usable range for real mountain riding, without turning the bike into a heavy, slow-handling machine." Which could mean the S.170E is not getting the full 800wh battery, and instead is using the smaller 600wh unit to keep weight to a minimum."
Pre-orders are open for a limited presale of the Atherton Bikes S.170E eMTB, with the first 50 builds available and delivery scheduled for April and May 2026. A £1,000 deposit secures a preorder, with the final balance due by the end of February. The bike uses an Avinox drive unit and a full-sized downtube battery; battery capacity is not disclosed but emphasis is on usable range over maximum size. The S.170E features DW4 suspension with 170mm rear travel, a 180mm fork, MX wheels, 12 frame sizes, machined lugs, 7075 alloy tubing, and shared components across build tiers.
