Sarah Cahill was captivated by the Chapel of the Chimes' unique architecture when she first visited it thirty years ago. Designed by Julia Morgan, the site has hosted the Garden of Memory event since 1996, which features musicians performing in various enchanting spaces throughout the building. This year, the event will be held on the summer solstice, June 21, and will offer a range of performances from 5 to 9 p.m. Following a brief hiatus during the pandemic, it continues to be a cherished celebration.
In 1996 the first Garden of Memory, as she dubbed the event, made its debut on the summer solstice, June 21, the longest day of the year.
The solstice is on June 21 again next month, when this year's event will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. It's one of the best parties of the year.
