SF Philharmonic and Anne Richardson
The season closes with a concert led by Music Director Jessica Bejarano and the San Francisco Philharmonic. The program begins with Tchaikovsky’s Marche Slave, moving from darkness to triumph through soaring melodies, thunderous climaxes, and a forceful finale. Anne Richardson, Associate Principal Cello of the San Francisco Symphony, performs Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme, bringing warmth, elegance, and virtuosic brilliance. The evening culminates with Elgar’s Enigma Variations, presented as a monumental work of mystery and emotion. The variations form vivid musical portraits that build toward “Nimrod,” a widely beloved orchestral moment featured in iconic films and described as speaking to the human spirit.
"Featured in countless iconic films, this unforgettable work speaks directly to the human spirit. About San Francisco Philharmonic: The mission of the San Francisco Philharmonic is to take world-class symphonic music off the pedestal and into the heart of our community. San Francisco Philharmonic is an orchestral group dedicated to cultural enrichment, music education and creating a performance platform for women and POC artists to showcase their talents."
