The Rheingau Music Festival has emerged as one of Europe’s largest music festivals, presenting a diverse lineup that includes classical, jazz, pop, and world music. Organizers emphasize the significance of their unique venues, such as the medieval Eberbach Monastery and its basilica, renowned for their acoustic qualities. Festival director Marsilius von Ingelheim notes that the setting enhances the musical experience. The festival’s opening concert featured a performance of Gounod's "St. Cecilia Mass" and Spanish music by Armenian violinist Diana Adamyan, who embraced the reverberant acoustics of the basilica to deliver a captivating performance.
The spaces are an integral part of us," said festival managing director Marsilius von Ingelheim of the setting. "We bring unique concert experiences to historical and modern locations in the region.
It was as if the whole basilica was vibrating and dancing with us. It was a wonderful feeling," said violinist Diana Adamyan after performing.
