""I started writing 'Amadeus' in 2020, and I finished writing it in 2023. In the way that the universe works, I met my husband in 2022, just as I was writing the final scene.""
""What began as a pandemic lockdown experiment grew into a jukebox musical that took on a life of its own. A lot of life kept me busy between then and now: we got married the following year and had a baby daughter.""
Amy Bouchard, an award-winning mezzo-soprano, presents her solo show 'Amadeus Never Gives Me the Blues' at The Marsh. The show narrates her early career struggles and personal choices, particularly her decision between pursuing her dream of becoming an opera singer and settling down for a traditional family life. Inspired by her grandmother's sacrifices, Bouchard began writing the show during the pandemic, which evolved into a jukebox musical. The project coincided with significant life changes, including her marriage and the birth of her daughter.
