Alissa White-Gluz has launched her new group Blue Medusa with the single 'Checkmate' and a co-directed music video. The track features a blend of melodic heavy metal and death metal, with distinct clean-sung choruses and tech death shred melodies. White-Gluz describes the single as her heaviest in terms of lyrics and the lightest in sound. Following her solo release 'The Room Where She Died,' Blue Medusa has not yet announced a debut album but will perform at US festivals later this year.
