In an inventive twist on ticket trading, a Norwegian football fan bartered five kilos of semi-dried fish for a ticket to the Europa League semifinal match between Bodo/Glimt and Tottenham Hotspur. With only 480 tickets available for 50,000 fans, Torbjorn Eide offered his prized boknafisk, leading to a successful exchange. Other fans, inspired by Eide, have also started trading food items for tickets. This unique approach not only reflects the passion for the sport but also showcases Norwegian culture through traditional foods.
We produce Norway's best boknafisk, and you probably can't get it in Bodo city. So I thought maybe someone would want it.
It was just a fun thing, but it ended up being an exciting trade for the ticket to the match.
It didn't take long for someone to take the bait when I offered five kilos of reindeer meat.
I may have given up a kilo of reindeer meat worth about 1,000 Norwegian crowns, but I get to experience something huge.
