21st Amendment Brewery, founded 25 years ago in San Francisco, is shutting down after its financial lender decided to stop funding the company. The San Francisco brewpub, San Leandro taproom, and large San Leandro production facility are slated to close by early November, with the SF brewpub possibly closing sooner after baseball season ends. Founders had recently announced stepping back from daily operations and hiring a new CEO to pivot the San Leandro facility toward producing beverages for other companies, but that operating partnership and financing plan fell through last week.
