Julian Nagelsmann narrowed Germany’s final attacking spot to Kevin Schade, Karim Adeyemi, and Maximilian Beier. The final choice went to Beier, with Adeyemi left out of the World Cup squad. Said El Mala was also rumored for the attacking mix but was omitted as well. Leroy Sané was included despite the other omissions. In a press conference, Nagelsmann explained the decision by emphasizing Beier’s versatility and usefulness as a substitute option. He also praised Adeyemi’s response to setbacks, noting Adeyemi’s strong first half of the season and a less successful second half.
