Alexander Nübel is surplus to requirements at Bayern Munich after four consecutive loan spells at AS Monaco and VfB Stuttgart and after Jonas Urbig was identified as the next option behind Manuel Neuer. Bayern have placed Nübel on the sale list because the starting role is no longer expected to open for him. Despite that situation, Nübel has produced a strong 2025/26 season for Stuttgart and is considered to be in his prime at age 29. Juventus and Manchester City have reportedly made initial contact with his management. Bayern are demanding €10–15m for his transfer, while Juventus’ interest is viewed as more plausible due to scrutiny around Michel De Gregorio’s recent performances.
"Alexander Nübel is in a very strange position at the moment. After 4 consecutive years on loan at AS Monaco and then VfB Stuttgart, waiting for Manuel Neuer to decline and hand him the starting role in goal, a new successor for Neuer has been found in Jonas Urbig. This has left Nübel unneeded in Munich and therefore on the sale list."
"However, Nübel has had a very, very good 2025/26 good season for Stuttgart and is in his prime. Surely, there will be a lot of interest in the 29-year-old goalkeeper. Sure enough, Sport Bild reports (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) that two big clubs in Europe are interested in Nübel: Juventus and Manchester City are showing interest in Alexander Nübel and have made initial contact with the management of the goalkeeper. Bayern are demanding €10-15m."
"It would be strange to see Manchester City pursue Nübel after splashing out for two goalkeepers- Gianluigi Donnarumma and James Trafford- last summer. Interest from Juventus would make more sense, however, given that their top goalkeeper Michel De Gregorio has come under certain scrutiny in recent months, most notably being benched for the return leg in the Champions League knockout playoffs against Galatasaray after conceding five goals in the first leg."
