Bayern Munich has officially signed Benno Schmitz, a 30-year-old defender, from partner club Grasshopper Zürich. Schmitz, a former academy player at Bayern, progressed through the youth ranks and became a regular starter for Bayern II. Post his time at Bayern, he achieved success with RB Salzburg, winning the Austrian double, and later continued his career with notable stints at RB Leipzig and 1. FC Köln.
