Kim Min-jae situation: Boost for Chelsea and Tottenham?
"Eberl recently confirmed that Bayern may not need to sign a new defender and hinted that Min-jae is part of the plans. He said: "I would say yes. We have Konrad Laimer, Josip Stanisic, Alphonso Davies, Hiroki Ito, and the three center-backs with Upa, Jonathan Tah, and Min-jae Kim. I think that gives you seven players for four positions. You're already in a very good position. There won't be any need to do anything.""
"Tottenham signed Joao Palhinha from Bayern on loan last summer, but it is unclear whether they would be willing to sign him permanently. In all probability, they will not. Cristian Romero has been vocal about Tottenham's lack of spending in the January window, and his future is in doubt. Spurs could also ship out the likes of Radu Dragusin and Ben Davies next summer, and bring in fresh new faces, and Kim Min-jae could be a handy option."
Chelsea and Tottenham have registered interest in Bayern centre-back Kim Min-jae, with both clubs looking to bolster their defence and Bayern open to a summer sale for the right offer. Spurs have also shown interest in Leon Goretzka, who will be a free agent after the season. Chelsea retain multiple centre-back options despite Levi Colwill's ACL injury and may still prioritise adding an experienced defender. Tottenham's transfer stance remains uncertain after Palhinha's loan and Romero's criticism of January inactivity. Bayern sporting director Max Eberl indicated Min-jae could remain but that offers were previously welcome.
