Home-field advantage? Bayern Munich's Vincent Kompany, Aleksandar Pavlovic will miss suspended Sudkurve
"Head coach Vincent Kompany is disappointed that he will not see the Südkurve in action. "That's a pity, of course. Bayern have always been successful at home in the Champions League, and that's always been due to the support of the fans. We'll still have 70,000 fans out there, but of course we hope that this won't happen often. The fans are very important to us," Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia)."
"As tickets for FC Bayern's home games in the lower tier of the Südkurve are not allocated by block and all 9,336 tickets are valid for blocks 109 to 117, it is technically impossible for the club to cancel only the 4,800 tickets for blocks 111 to 114. For this reason, all tickets for the Südkurve will be cancelled in a first step, and the club will refund the ticket price to the respective purchasers."
Bayern Munich closed the lower tier of the Südkurve for the home match against Union Saint-Gilloise after ultras ignited pyrotechnics in a previous Champions League game. The lower tier holds 9,336 tickets across blocks 109–117, and because tickets are not allocated by block the club cannot cancel only blocks 111–114, so all Südkurve tickets were invalidated and will be refunded. The tickets will be cancelled on Friday. The club may reissue seats for blocks 109–110 and 115–117 later and will issue further information if that occurs. Head coach Vincent Kompany and midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović expressed disappointment at the absence of the boisterous fans.
