Lennart Karl, an 18-year-old FC Bayern player, received a World Cup call-up from Julian Nagelsmann. Karl’s debut season produced nine goals and eight assists across the Bundesliga and Champions League. He previously recovered from a torn muscle fiber and contributed to Bayern’s 5-1 Bundesliga win over FC Köln. Nathaniel Brown, an Eintracht Frankfurt left-back and rumored Bayern transfer target, is also included in the national team. Brown’s selection could leave VfB Stuttgart left-back Maximilian Mittelstädt out of the tournament.
