Training for the 2026/27 season is scheduled to start on July 20. Non-internationals receive individual training plans from the club to maintain fitness, and during the World Cup they can also follow those plans while on vacation. Injured players such as Serge Gnabry continue their comeback through separate summer programs. Gnabry, dealing with an adductor tear in his right thigh, will attend Säbener Straße from time to time for rehab training in the fitness room and treatment with the physios. World Cup participants may receive additional time off, depending on travel demands for the Asia tour, including matches in South Korea and Hong Kong.
"Vincent Kompany has scheduled the training start for July 20. The non-internationals do receive individual training plans from the club to maintain their fitness, but during the World Cup, they can also do that in the sun and on vacation."
"Serge Gnabry (adductor tear in his right thigh) must also continue working on his comeback and will therefore be at Säbener Straße from time to time-for rehab training in the fitness room and for treatment with the physios."
"It remains to be seen how much extra time World Cup participants get off. In 2018, many were excused from the summer tour. In 2022, there was an extended break for World Cup players as well. With the squad expected to have a heavy travel schedule in Asia (games in South Korea and Hong Kong), Kompany could opt for a similar plan for any internationals, who advance deep into the tourney."
